The People Mover
The Detroit People Mover will be in full operation on Marathon weekend from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening. Extended hours begin on Sunday at 5:00 AM. Two People Mover stations are located near the Start/Finish Line – Michigan Avenue and Fort/Cass. The Cobo Center station is also fairly close to the Finish. The cost is $.75 each way.
There will be multiple road closures downtown throughout the weekend and race day as we prepare the course. We strongly recommend early arrival on race day to ensure you don’t experience difficulties with our 6:00 AM closures for the course. To be safe, we suggest you park outside the course perimeter. Plan ahead!
Two key times to note:
- The Ambassador Bridge will have restricted traffic from the hours of 5:45 AM to 9:00 AM.
- The Detroit-Windsor Tunnel will close between the hours of 6:45 AM to 10:00 AM.
