International Waiver (Scroll down to Accept)
Participants of the Full Marathon, international half-marathon, and relay legs 1 & 2 must agree to the following waiver before They can begin the registration process. No exceptions.
I recognize that this is an international event, and that If I am in an event that crosses the U.S./Canadian border, and I am 16 years of age or older on or before race day, I will need a valid Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (“WHTI”) compliant document such as a passport, passport card, enhanced drivers license (“EDL”), trusted traveler program card (NEXUS card) or U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident card. U.S. and Canadian children participating in the Marathon Relay ONLY under the age of 16 will be able to present the original or a copy of their birth certificate or other proof of U.S. citizenship such as a naturalization or citizenship card.
All entries are submitted to the Bureau of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (“CBP”) and the Canadian Border Services Agency (“CBSA”), for screening before the race. If your screening requires additional information than what was provided during registration or you are deemed inadmissible, one of these agencies may reach out to you via email or telephone for more details.
If I am not a citizen of the U.S. or Canada, other documentation may be needed.
ALL participants must show up in person at the Health & Fitness Expo, and present their valid WHTI compliant document in order to pick up their race packet.
If I am running only on U.S. soil (U.S.-Only Half-Marathon, Relay Legs 3-5, 5K and the Kids Fun Run), I need only present photo identification when picking up my packet.
I recognize that if I am registered for an international event and do not have proper documentation, I will not be able to participate and will receive no refund.
I acknowledge the possibility of my inadmissibility to Canada. I acknowledge that, in order to enter Canada, I may need to obtain Approval of Rehabilitation or a Temporary Resident Permit at a Canadian Consulate or Embassy. If I am considered inadmissible to Canada, I will not be able to participate and will receive no refund.
If for any reason (for example, emergency, carrying backpack) I am asked by CBP to identify myself when crossing the border, I will be expected to present proper identification (WHTI compliant document). I acknowledge that CBP actions may delay my re-entry into the U.S. Please note, it is not the intention of CBP to actively or randomly pull runners out of the race to review their documentation.
