Dear Runners,

As we near race day of our 39th annual Detroit Free Press/Talmer Bank Marathon, we have some disappointing news to share. We’ve been informed by our shirt manufacturing partner, Portland, Oregon-based Leslie Jordan, a 30-year veteran manufacturer in the running industry, that due to an unforeseen shipping delay, our participant shirts will not arrive in time for race day.

On behalf of our entire Detroit Free Press/Talmer Bank Marathon team, I want to sincerely apologize for this delay. We pride ourselves on organizing a fun, safe and dependable race experience. And we’re committed to doing our best to make things right.

To that end, here is what we plan to do regarding participant shirts this year:

You will be receiving TWO participant shirts this year. We are working with Leslie Jordan to expedite the delivery of a gender-specific, short sleeve cotton shirt that will be included in your runner packet in time for your race. In addition, once the original long sleeve tech shirt arrives, we will be shipping it directly to you after the race. Please look for an email from imAthlete asking you to confirm or update your mailing address.

We appreciate your patronage and enthusiasm for our race. If you have any questions or feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Sincerely,

Barbara Bennage

Executive Race Director
