Here’s a detailed look at the course finish line area, which includes Gear Check, Runner Reunite and the Conquered afterparty:

Start Line Location – Sunday Races

  • The Sunday Start Line for all Sunday races is located on Fort St. between 1st and 2nd.
  • Gear check is located near the finish line on Monroe, just north of Campus Martius, and is open from 5:30am-2:30pm. Please arrive with plenty of time to get your gear checked, use the bathroom, and arrive to the start line in a timely manner.  There is no gear check at the start line.

International Marathon, International Half Marathon, and Relay Leg 1 Start Procedures

  • The International Marathon, Half Marathon, and Relay Leg 1participants will be pre-assigned to a Start Corral.  Start Corrals will be released onto the course in waves, each wave consisting of two corrals, to ensure a smooth, safe race experience for all participants.
  • Start Corrals A-G are located on Fort St. between 1st and Shelby and may be accessed from Lafayette on the north or Congress on the south. Corral H is located on Cass between Fort and Lafayette, and may be accessed via Lafayette only. Please review the Start Line Map to ensure you know how best to access your assigned corral.
  • Corrals A-F will hold a mixture of International Marathoners, International Half Marathoners, and Relay Leg 1 participants. Corrals G and H will be International Half Marathoners ONLY. No marathoners or relay participants will be allowed to start in corrals G and H. Please enter your corral under the sign with your assigned corral’s letter.
  • If you want to run with a friend in a different corral, you may drop BACK to be together, but runners may not advance forward. For example, a runner assigned to Corral B may choose to start in Corral C. A runner assigned to Corral C may not begin in Corral B. No International Marathoners may start in Corrals G and H. 
  • Start Corrals open at 6:15am and close at 6:55am.
  • The Adaptive Athlete Division starts at 6:58am.
  • The main field begins at 7am. No late starts will be allowed. 
  • Only registered participants are allowed in the start corrals.

Motor City Half Marathon Start Procedures

  • The Motor City Half Marathon begins at 10:30am, also on Fort St between 1st and 2nd Streets.
  • There are no corrals for the Motor City Half Marathon.
  • No late starts will be allowed.
