Oct. 17-18, 2025 at Huntington Place (formerly TCF Center/Cobo Center)

The Health & Fitness Expo will feature exhibitors offering 2025 marathon merchandise and the latest running footwear, apparel, nutrition, technology and much more. The expo is free and open to the public!

It will be held in downtown Detroit at Huntington Place, 1 Washington Blvd. Detroit.

Expo hours

1-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17
10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18

Exhibitors

The Health & Fitness Expo is a great chance to pick up anything and everything you might need for your last-minute race preparations – or to get started if you’re just beginning your running journey.

There will be exhibitors, offering everything from apparel to nutrition and mobile hydration. Other races and our charity partners will also be represented. Be sure to check out the Running Lab store for the chance to pick up official Detroit Free Press Marathon merchandise.

Free samples and discounts will abound throughout the hall.

Parking

Here are some parking suggestions from the Huntington Center.

Because the Huntington Center area can sometimes be congested, you could also park in outlying areas (think Midtown, Greektown, Campus Martius, etc.) and use transportation other than cars to get to Huntington Place, such as the QLINE. The Detroit People Mover will be in full operation during race weekend. The Detroit People Mover is free to the public. More information on the station locations and schedule, please visit https://www.thepeoplemover.com.

Info for race participants

For international events (Marathon, International Half-Marathon, Marathon Relay, The Supreme and The Wonder): You must bring proper proof of identity to receive your race number. For most participants, this means a Passport, Passport Card, or Enhanced Driver’s License. Please click here for a complete listing of accepted documentation.

For domestic events (Motor City Half-Marathon, 5K, 1-Mile, Kids Marathon, Meijer Little Detroit Dash and The Temptation): You must bring proper proof of identity to receive your race number. For most participants, this means a driver’s license. All identification documents must have a photo, name and date of birth. If a participant is younger than 16 years of age, a parent/guardian may pick up the child’s race number.

Packet pickup

All packet pickup areas are in the back of the Expo. The main information booth, where all your last minute questions can be answered, is also located in the packet pickup area.

We will assign bib numbers using the dynamic bib distribution system. This means we will not be assigning bib numbers prior to the Health & Fitness Expo. Instead, your bib number will be assigned when you pick up your race materials. (Note: Pre-assigned bib numbers will be given to participants in the Disabilities Division, Marathon Relay and Challenge Series.)

For participants in the Marathon, both Half Marathons, the 5K, 1-Mile, Kids Marathon and Meijer Little Detroit Dash: During race week, you will receive an email with a QR code that volunteers at the Expo will use to pull up your registration. Please either print out or have that QR code accessible on your phone when you arrive at the Expo.

Proceed to the pickup area for your specific event. The volunteer will scan your QR code and assign your bib number. In addition to your bib number, you will be given your event bag (safety pins, distance sticker, race wrap and other sponsor gifts) as well as your long-sleeved technical shirt.

For participants in the Adaptive Athletes Division, Marathon Relay and Detroit Challenge Series: During race week you will receive an email with your assigned bib number. Please either print out or have that bib number accessible on your phone when you arrive at the Expo.
Proceed to the pick-up area for your event, and line up according to the signs displayed behind the tables.

In addition to your bib number, you will be given your event bag (safety pins, distance sticker, race wrap and other sponsor gifts) as well as your long-sleeved technical shirt.

WHO CAN PICK UP MY PACKET: Participants competing in an event conducted solely in the United States (Motor City Half-Marathon, Marathon Relay Legs 2, 3, 4 or 5, 5K, 1-Mile, Kids Marathon or Meijer Little Detroit Dash) may have someone else pick up their race packet. The person picking up the packet must bring with them a printed copy of the participant’s confirmation email to show to our volunteers at the Health & Fitness Expo.

All participants competing in an event that crosses the U.S./Canadian border (Marathon, International Half-Marathon, or Marathon Relay Leg 1), regardless of citizenship, must show up in person in order to pick up their packet. And they must bring their international credentials.

There will be no exceptions, and no picking up of packets on race day.

Registering in person at the Expo

Some races will be eligible for in-person registration at the Expo. Registration will only be possible if the events have not reached sellout status. For more details on which races are eligible for in-person registration, click here.
