Congratulations to our Freep Marathon Runner of the Week, Becky Klinkman!

Read about Becky on the Detroit Free Press.

Each week, the Detroit Free Press/Chemical Bank Marathon chooses a runner to spotlight. Whether you’re training for a full marathon, going out on the weekend for a long run or getting back into the swing of running, the race loves to showcase its runners. Each Runner of the Week’s story will run in the Detroit Free Press, online and in the Sunday paper. They’ll also be featured on the Marathon’s social channels. New in 2017, each Runner of the Week will win a prize pack, courtesy of the following sponsors.

  •  Nite Beams, the leader in LED and reflective safety gear for runners.
  • The Stick, a self-massage tool helping runners recover since 1988.
  • SportHooks, the original race medal display and medal hanger.
